Dedicated to the memory of John Polson

This site is a tribute to John Polson. He is much loved and will always be remembered.

John had a great life with his family and his life at a young age was robbed by the cruel disease Alzheimer’s. As a family we were by his side riding out the storm with him and reassuring him we would be there each step of the way. During the Covid pandemic John’s health and wellbeing required 24 hour nursing care and the decision was made for us that it was in his best interest to be looked after in Brockworth House care home. We were heartbroken but soon relised he was in the best hands and over the years the care home became part of our life in a big way and not only did they do an amazing job at caring for John but his family too. We can not thank them enough for all the have done mentally physically and emotionally.

They truly do not get enough credit for all that they do, we hope to raise money to make the outdoor areas a lovely place for the residents who are still battling the cruel disease.

Please if you can spare any money please donate to the care home who took the best care of our Hero

Thoughts

I echo everything Philip has already said, we were a fantastic team at that time and John was one of our star players. I went into partnership with him as a greyhound owner in 1988 and the fun and laughs we had are unforgettable. I also met some special people through John none more so than his Dad who I shared many happy times with at functions in Edinburgh and he often kept John and I on the straight and narrow. I can't imagine how much he will now be missed by those still closest to him and my thoughts are with you all at this time. I am so sad that he has left you all so young but I am also happy to have shared a part of my life with him. Rest easy my auld pal, Paul

John was our Fynn’s ‘go to’ when he arrived at Sharon and Gemma’s home on his childminding days. He had so much time and patience and Fynn loved spending time with him when he was there. John was a very special person, loved and adored by many .. We are so grateful to have met John and be part of our memories.

I worked with John in the 80s and 90s in Edinburgh, in the South West and then in London. He was one of the best salesmen and managers of our times. Always over target, always as smart as a new pin, always one of the first to arrive at work in the morning and always one of the last to leave the pub at night! There was never a dull moment with John, whether it was a weekend at the Grand National, an evening at Powderhall, Sunday night at San Marcos or a night out at the Irish Bar in Kingston-on-Thames we all had a ball with John. He was one of the best and one of a kind. RIP friend.
Philip and all Johns pals from Purdies, Equipu and Slotz.
